You Have An Inheritance

Are you willing to fight for what's yours?

Picture a waterfall. That waterfall represents the Blood of Jesus. When you are born again, you walk through that refreshing waterfall and the Blood filters out all of your impurities, sins and failures. When you come out on the other side, you have been saved, forgiven, washed white as snow and you're on your way to heaven. You are what the Bible calls "Saved." But there's more...

As you walk out on the other side of that waterfall, Jesus hands you a stack of clothing and a gift box. The stack of clothing has your robe of righteousness that you can now wear because Jesus' Blood cleansed you and put you in rightstanding with God. It also has your army fatigues because we are now in God's army...Equipped and ready to do His Will on this earth. Lastly, the stack of clothing contains your armor so that you can fight off the sneaky attacks of the devil.

In the gift box is the inheritance that God wanted you, his most precious and favored child, to have from the beginning of the earth. Adam gave it away because he sinned but Jesus bought it back for us. In it is health, wealth, prospertiy, wisdom, peace, joy, happiness...nothing missing, nothing broken. Complete wholeness for your spirit, soul and body.

Now, picture someone sneaking in and stealing your gift box. Which would you say next?

"That's ok, you can have it. I've been saved and I'm on my way to heaven. I really don't care about that special gift box that contains all of the wonderful things God wanted me to enjoy here on earth."

Or...

"Take your hands off that box. God gave me that box and Jesus paid the ultimate price to get it back for me. It is precious, it contains my God given inheritance and I don't have to wait to get to heaven to enjoy it!"

If you aren't walking in complete wholeness, you may be giving up early and taking option one. Jesus did his part to pay the price to redeem us. It's now up to us to decide how much of that redemption we want to walk in, how important it is to us, and how hard we want to fight to maintain it.

Get to know God. Get to know His character and His purpose. Once you know Him, you will have confidence that what He said in His Word will come to pass. Learn about the Blood of Jesus and God's Redemption Plan which brought us back into relationship with Him. Learn about your authority in Christ and begin to take that authority.

If you don't fight for what is yours the devil is going to take it. And he isn't looking for just your gift box. He wants your life and is working around the clock to do anything he can to destroy you. Don't let the devil beat you at the game of life. Don't leave any windows open that he can sneak in through. You have the authority, the power, the tools, and the Most High God on your side. Make sure you leave this life knowing that you won the ultimate showdown!

Ephesians 6:10-18

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

Put on God's whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, and having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people).
